Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue Tutorial for Clarinet!

Are you familiar with the famous Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue? It's a wonderful music composition featuring piano solo and jazz band, and was commissioned for bandleader Paul Whiteman. Nowadays, it's often performed with piano and orchestra (or piano and band), and it features a big, jazzy clarinet solo! The clarinet part is notable (and tricky!) for several reasons: -The clarinet solo literally opens the piece (hooray nerves) -It features a very difficult glissando that involves a mix of finger and embouchure techniques to be able to pull it off correctly -You need to have a few jazz techniques up your sleeve (glissando, bends, scoops) in order to really play the piece to its full potential. As a jazz and classical clarinetist, I love playing this piece and feel like it can be so fun to play in a large group! There are band arrangements of it as well that some of you might have played in your community groups.I made a video for you guys playing it and explaining it here, check it out below. If you've ever wanted to learn how to do a glissando on clarinet, now's your chance!
